ABOUT MACRO MAMA
Baking and entertaining has been a huge part of my life growing up with a large family. I spent much of my childhood in the kitchen with my parents learning new recipes and experimenting.
In 2018, after giving birth to with my daughter, I would calm my anxiety and depression by being in the kitchen, baking up a storm with an infant strapped to my chest.
I started to go to the gym to fight the postpartum depression and learned that people at the gym did not/ could not enjoy my sweet treats because they did not fit into their strict diet plans. Macro Mama Bakery was then born as I started to create high protein, macro friendly, sweets that my gym friends could enjoy.
As the years progressed, I strayed from the protein treats and into other fun custom desserts. I had always told myself that I would never dive into the world of cupcakes, due to my dislike of frosting. Not too far down the road was I asked to do custom cupcakes for a birthday party and my excitement for cupcakes grew.
During the pandemic, my daughter and I took to the kitchen. We explored all the fun flavor combinations we could. During the lockdown, I would make cupcake deliveries to friends, families. We made protein treats for the ER nurses at St. Francis Regional Medical Center while they were fighting on the front lines day after day. In the spring, I was able to give back again. A friend in the craft beer community was in a motorcycle accident. I created a menu of craft beer infused cupcakes to raffle off. In one weekend, I had over 200 cupcakes pass through my oven and raised a few hundred dollars for a friend in need.
My baking has brought me through the hardest of times, through divorce, solo parenting, mental health challenges, loss and has given me an opportunity to be the light in the life ( and stomachs) of the people around me.
